Reading Pagans and Witches

Bimonthly Meetings - These are our regular meetings which are held twice a month and serve to educate our members, and provide regular social opportunities for those in our regional area. Each meeting is held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Keep up-to-date on these meetings on our Facebook Events page. Generally we have a pre-determined discussion or educational talk scheduled for each event to provide focus and inspire discussion among one another. These meetings have been held regularly each month since October 14, 2004.

Imbolc Gathering & Expo - In the dark winter months of Berks county there are few community events. The Imbolc Expo is the ideal event to break that pallid, wintry monotony. During this expo is public ritual (held by coven's, kindred's, and folk of the community), guided meditations, children's entertainment, music, meet-and-greet time with local folks, and casual cocktail-style eats, as well as the opportunity to shop with regional vendors of spiritual supplies, home goods, arts, and more. This event is typically held on the last Saturday of January, typically starting around 11:00 AM, and closing around 6:00 PM. The location for our 2015 Imbolc Expo is to be determined, so stay tuned for updates! We first held this event on February 3, 2007. As of 2012, this event is on hiatus while we work on restructuring our organization to comply with federal non profit regulations as well as focus on community service and education. It is our intention to resume this event in 2015.

PA May Faire - The PA May Faire is a family-friendly festival that celebrates the spring season at its peak. At the Faire you'll experience seasonal rituals held by local pagan groups, on-stage and interactive entertainment, educational workshops and discussions, craft exhibitors, and the opportunity to shop with a unique variety of vendors, healers, and readers. The PA May Faire is on the first Saturday of May each year at the  Berks County 4H Community Center in Leesport. RPW hosted the PA May Faire for the first time on May 12, 2007, after our friends at Sickman's Mill, and those of Maplewing who helped them, had asked us to take over the festival for them. We were honored to stand by and help them, and each year we continue to do so. (Note: Until recently, our site had credited the H.O.M.E. group in Lancaster for previously running the PA May Faire. This was an innocent error on the part of our web mistress, and she (...I, Rebecca!) apologize to both the H.O.M.E. group, and the folks of Sickman's Mill and Maplewing for that error!

Celebrating Earth Spirituality - Celebrating Earth Spirituality (a.k.a. CES) is an autumn festival of which the sole purpose is to educate and promote awareness of paganism and other alternative religions. During this event you'll have the opportunity to see a large ritual (held by one of the many religious groups in the region each year), join guest speakers representing the many paths of paganism, spirituality, and alternative religions, guided meditations and other spiritual experiences, as well as having the opportunity to shop among many vendors. CES is generally held on the 2nd Saturday of September each year, and typically starts around 11:00 AM, and closing around 6:00 PM. In the past we have held CES at Stoudtburg Village in Adamstown, PA. We first held this event on September 9, 2009. We'd gotten so much media attention from this event that we even caught the eye of The New York Times, and were blessed with the appearance of Selena Fox as a result! We plan on returning this event in September of 2015.

Masked Ball - In 2014, RPW has teamed up with local Pagan elder and healer, Matthew Thomas, to bring back the famous Berks County Witches' Ball! The Masked Ball is an Autumnal event held with the sole purpose of social revelry and good times. This is an adult-only event since the evening runs until midnight, and due to the presence of alcoholic beverages. Visit the event page for more details!

Field Trips - Every so often we organize field trips to many interesting destinations, locally and distant. Some of these events include "Poe Evermore", an evening of theatre which features the many poems and stories of Edgar Allan Poe, A Dickens of a Christmas, featuring a night of the works of Charles Dickens' work in theatric motion, trips to the Renaissance Faire, museums, and more. Stay tuned for updates and announcements for potential field trips in the future!

Check out our Facebook event page for up-to-date information on all of our events.
